High School Team #1

Hanna and Matthew currently reside in Dexter with their daughter, Ellie and son, Rhodes. They are both graduates of EHS, where they were multi-sport athletes. Hanna is a dental hygienist and Matthew works as a transportation coordinator. As an All Conference, All District and 3rd Team All State outside hitter, Hanna has 15 years of playing experience at high school, collegiate and recreational levels.Together over the years, they have played sand volleyball where Matthew has learned the ins and outs of the sport. They’re excited to be back as coaches and are eager to see what this club season has in store!

High School Team #2

Andrea Maxwell

Hi, I am Andrea Maxwell! I am married and have 2 sons who graduated from the Earlham School District. I played volleyball at Hazelwood West HS in St. Louis and played collegiate volleyball at Rockhurst University, with a 140-14 record, I was also in the top 10 in NCAA II blocks and hitting percentage as a Middle Hitter, I have numberous accolades in my volleyball career, but that was all due to my great teammates. I look forward to helping the players develop individually as well as a team. Go Cards!

Lynn Strand

Lynn Strand currently resides in Earlham with her husband and two sons. Lynn started her coaching career with an opportunity to give back to the community due to an injury that ended her playing career in 1999. She was a volunteer assistant coach at Brody middle school 2000-2002, there she focused on fundamentals and sharing her love of the game. She then became the assistant high school softball coach for Woodward-Granger from 2008-2011, with two state tournament trips. Lynn then started her volleyball club coaching career for Iowa Power Plex from 2011-2017, where she was the head coach for the National level teams for 15U-17U. While coaching at Power Plex, she has assisted in coaching teams, running programs, holding lessons and qualified for the National tournament. Lynn stepped away from coaching to raise her youngest son, but that didn't last long as she was asked to coach club for ADM Volleyball Club. She coached for ADM from 2018-2021. With close to 15 years of coaching experience, Lynn is excited to start coaching at EVBC starting in 2023.

Katie Hughes

Hi! My name is Katelyn (Katie) Hughes. I graduated in 2021 from Earlham High School and I currently work at Methodist downtown as a nurse. I played volleyball from 5th-12th grade for both Winterset, Earlham and EVBC. This will be my fourth season coaching for EVBC. In the past, I have coached 13 and 15U. I am looking forward to working with my team on serve receive and defense.

Haleigh Cross

Hello, my name is Haleigh Cross! I am finishing up school at dmacc to be a firefighter. I have a dog named Gus who goes just about everywhere with me. In high school I was a cheerleader and did a little bit of volleyball as well. I am very excited to coach this year and get to meet and know everyone as well.

High School Team #3

Savannah Hydorn

I'm Savannah Hydorn. I graduated from Nodaway Valley back in 2012 and attended Graceland University on a volleyball scholarship. After playing one year, my career ended due to an injury. I student taught and coached volleyball at Lawson Schools. After student teaching, I settled in Missouri, at a school that didn't have volleyball. I ran an AAU program for one year there. While in Missouri, I coached JH girls basketball for five years, JH track for six years, and directed the middle school play for seven years.

After much discussion, my family and I moved back to Iowa over the summer to enjoy new experiences. I'm currently in my eighth year of teaching Middle School English. I'm excited for everything to come with this new adventure.

Savannah will be assisted by Savannah Charlet and Shilyn Terrel, current Earlham volleyball players (bios coming soon)!

Presley Koberg

Hi, my name is Presley Koberg! I'm a senior at Earlham. I am involved in volleyball, basketball, and golf. I also participate in numerous clubs. I've played volleyball for 10 years, on club and school teams. I'm excited to see volleyball from a different perspective as a coach! I'm excited to help our team learn new skills and help create a positive culture!

Presley will coach alongside Rachel Luke, an Earlham volleyball alum (bio coming soon)!

11U / 10U

Lindsey Hoodjer

My name is Lindsey Hoodjer and this will be my third-year coaching in Earlham. Growing up, I played volleyball, basketball, golf and softball at Greene (now North Butler) in Northern Iowa. I was a setter in high school and received all conference honors my junior year on the honorable mention team. After college, I coached 7th and 8th grade volleyball in Clarksville and also coached the high school team there for one year. I work as a social worker for Heartland AEA. In the past, I have coached 12u and 13u club teams for Norwalk Volleyball Club. I am excited to coach 11u and 10u in Earlham! In my spare time, I enjoy photography, readying, playing in a women's league, attending activities for my nieces and nephews and spending time with my fiancé and his two kids.

Lindsey will coach alongside Charlie Mineart, an Earlham volleyball alum and another coach from last season, Katherine Frank (bios coming soon)!
