17U Black

Hanna and Matthew currently reside in Dexter with their daughter, Ellie, son, Rhoads and two golden retrievers. They are both graduates of EHS, where they were multi-sport athletes. Hanna is a dental hygienist and Matthew works as a transportation coordinator. As an All Conference, All District and 3rd Team All State outside hitter, Hanna has 15 years of playing experience at high school, collegiate and recreational levels. She coached EVBC back in 2014 before her college program began. Together over the years, they have played sand volleyball where Matthew has learned the ins and outs of the sport. They’re excited to be back as coaches and are eager to see what this club season has in store!

17U Red

Hi, I am Andrea Maxwell! I am married and have 2 sons in the Earlham School District. I played volleyball at Hazelwood West HS in St. Louis and played collegiate volleyball at Rockhurst University, with a 140-14 record, I was also in the top 10 in NCAA II blocks and hitting percentage as a Middle Hitter, I have numberous accolades in my volleyball career, but that was all due to my great teammates. I look forward to helping the players develop individually as well as a team. Go Cards!

Lynn Strand currently resides in Earlham with her husband and two sons. Lynn started her coaching career with an opportunity to give back to the community due to an injury that ended her playing career in 1999. She was a volunteer assistant coach at Brody middle school 2000-2002, there she focused on fundamentals and sharing her love of the game. She then became the assistant high school softball coach for Woodward-Granger from 2008-2011, with two state tournament trips. Lynn then started her volleyball club coaching career for Iowa Power Plex from 2011-2017, where she was the head coach for the National level teams for 15U-17U. While coaching at Power Plex, she has assisted in coaching teams, running programs, holding lessons and qualified for the National tournament. Lynn stepped away from coaching to raise her youngest son, but that didn't last long as she was asked to coach club for ADM Volleyball Club. She coached for ADM from 2018-2021. With close to 15 years of coaching experience, Lynn is excited to start coaching at EVBC starting in 2023.

Hi! My name is Katelyn (Katie) Hughes. I graduated in 2021 from Earlham High School and I currently go to SWICC for nursing. I played volleyball from 5th-12th grade for both Winterset, Earlham and EVBC. This will be my fourth season coaching for EVBC. In the past, I have coached 15U and 13U. I am looking forward to working with my team on serving, serve receive and defense.

Hello, my name is Haleigh Cross! I am currently in school to become a firefighter and a paramedic at DMACC. I have one dog named Gus who goes just about everywhere with me. In high school I was a cheerleader and did a little bit of volleyball as well. I am very excited to help coach this year and get to meet and know everyone as well.

15U Red

Hello! My name is Holly Gettler and we live in Earlham with our two daughters and dog Oakley. I am a Registered Nurse and work in the Emergency Department as a nursing supervisor. I also currently coach volleyball for the Earlham 7th and 8th grade teams. I have played volleyball for many years for Waveely-Shell Rock and still play sand volleyball every summer. I also coached high school and club for Waverly Shell Rock for a few years. I love being in the gym and am always up for a good game of volleyball or pepper!!

Hi, I'm Journey Allsup. I grew up in Winterset, Iowa and started playing volleyball when I was in 7th grade and continued through high school as a defensive specialist. I was also involved in softball, soccer, and track. This is my second year coaching for EVBC. I am looking forward to working with my team on serving and serve receive.

Cameryn grew up in Earlham, Iowa where she played high school volleyball for Earlham and club for EVBC. Cameryn was an all-conference defensive specialist. She is the current assistant varsity coach here at Earlham and this is her fifth year coaching for EVBC. She is looking forward to working with her teams on serving, serve receive, and defense.

Cameryn will be assisted by Earlham volleyball seniors: Lily and Rowen.

Hello! I am Kelcie Hale and I am 23 years old. I am currently trying to obtain my BA in education. I went to Earlham High School and played volleyball, basketball, and ran track. I played basketball for three years at the collegiate level. I stopped playing because I needed to focus on school and myself. I live in Earlham, and I have lived here for six years. This will be my third year coaching with EVBC and I am super excited to get to know you and the athletes! :)

Kelcie will be assisted by Earlham volleyball seniors: Lily and Rowen.

11U / 10U

My name is Lindsey Hoodjer and this will be my second year coaching in Earlham. Growing up I played volleyball, basketball, golf, and softball at Greene (now North Butler) in Northern Iowa. I was a setter in high school and received all conference honors my junior year on the honorable mention team. After college I coached 7th and 8th grade volleyball in Clarksville and also coached the high school club team there for one year. I recently moved to Earlham and work as a school social worker in Des Moines. In the past, I have coached 12u and 13u club teams for Norwalk Volleyball Club. I am excited to coach 11u and 10u in Earlham! In my spare time, I enjoy photography, reading, playing in a women's volleyball league, napping with my dog, attending activities for my nieces and nephews, and spending time with my boyfriend and his two kids.

Lindsey will be assisted by Earlham volleyball senior Charlie.
